FUSE SESSION 01: MOTHER CITY EDITION - BIG LOVE FOR THE PEOPLE

Our next electrifying Fuse Session brought in our game-disrupting Champions of Change to discuss BIG LOVE for the people, with Ntombenhle Khathwane, Mzikhona Mgedle, Jesse Laitinen, Alexandre Tilmans and Jessica Dewhurst covering topics such as owning your own beauty, delivering medicine by bicycle, addressing homelessness, using street art as a creative tool to promote BIG change and the power of everyday activism.

Ntombenhle Khathwane

Ntombenhle Khathwane was our moderator on the day. She founded AfroBotanics, a natural hair and body care brand. Through AfroBotanics and her podcast, Ntombenhle is creating a world where everyone can live their purpose in their own kind of look.

Mzikhona Mgedle

Mzikhona Mgedle came up with the Langa Bicycle Hub, initially to deliver medicine by bicycle to bedridden people. Today, the hub offers cycling classes, bicycle tours and much more. He aims to spark a cycling revolution in Africa.

Jesse Laitinen

Jesse Laitinen  is the strategic partnerships manager of Streetscapes, a non-profit organisation dedicated to building connections, bonding and purpose as a way to address homelessness and addiction in the Mother City.

Jessica Dewhurst

Jessica Dewhurst founded the human rights NPO Justice Desk Africa. She is a passionate and proud South African who believes in the power of everyday activism and inspires everyone she meets to join the pursuit of justice.

Alexandre Tilmans

Alexandre Tilmans is the co-founder of Baz-Art, an NGO that uses street art and graffiti as a creative tool to promote public dialogue and engagement and to positively impact people's physical, emotional and social environments..
