CLIMATE IMPACT.
Here at MINI, we are well aware of our responsibility to help mitigate the impacts of climate change. And we’re not taking a back seat. We are part of the Business Ambition for 1.5° C campaign launched by the Science-Based Targets Initiative. Our BIG LOVE campaign symbolises our close commitment to the fundamental natural requirements of our planet. But actions speak louder. We want to move faster and achieve even more.
EFFICIENCY.
There is no time to waste. We can directly influence the CO₂ emissions of our own plants and sites. We have already set the benchmark for the efficient management of resources by lowering emissions per vehicle produced by more than 70% since 2006. But we now want to reduce emissions by at least 40% per vehicle throughout the entire lifecycle – supply chain, production and use phase – from 2019 levels by 2030.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY.
We approach everything we create with circularity in mind. That means extending the value of our products for as long as possible, using fewer resources and putting products that have reached the end of their lives back into the production loop. We have increased the share of secondary materials and returned end-of-life vehicles to the raw materials cycle. We are adapting our vehicle design so more can be easily recylced. And we have improved recyclability and the second life for batteries.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.
We are reducing waste, energy and CO₂ emissions per vehicle throughout the life cycle to realise our vision of a purer dynamism.
